The Gujarat government has announced a subsidy scheme to encourage use of electric vehicles. Under it, the State government will offer subsidy of ₹12,000 for a battery-operated electric two-wheeler, and ₹48,000 for an e-rickshaw (three-wheeler).

Under the scheme, the state government will give a subsidy of Rs 12,000 each to students to buy e-scooters. It will provide assistance to students from class 9 to college to purchase battery-powered to wheelers.


Announcing the scheme as part of five development projects, ‘Panchsheel’ Gift, to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday today, Rupani also announced Rs.50 lakh scheme for charging e-vehicles for creating necessary infrastructure. It was on this day, 11 years ago the then Gujarat’s Chief Minister Narendra Modi had set up the country’s first a separate Climate Change Department, long before the climate change appeared as a challenge before the world.


In a bid to encourage the use of electric vehicles, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Thursday, September 17, announced subsidy schemes for electric two-wheelers and e-rickshaws. The scheme was announced during a virtual programme on climate change to commemorate the founding day of the state climate change department.Under the scheme, the state government will give a subsidy of Rs 12,000 each to students to buy e-scooters. It will provide assistance to students from class 9 to college to purchase battery-powered to wheelers.Furthermore, the state government will provide assistance of Rs 48,000 for the purchase of battery-powered e-rickshaws for individual and institutional beneficiaries. The subsidy will provide for first 10,000 two-wheelers and 5,000 three-wheelers.In addition, a subsidy scheme of Rs 5 lakh, to set up infrastructure facilities in the state for charging battery-powered vehicles has also been announced.Currently, the state has a total installed capacity of 35,500 MW. Renewable energy has contributed 30 per cent to the total installed capacity, higher than the national average of 23 per cent, Principal Secretary (Climate Change) S J Haider said.He added that the schemes will be taken forward depending on the response it garners.At the virtual programme, the CM announced the subsidy as a "Panchsheel gift" of five development schemes in Gujarat to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 70th birthday.During the programme, the CM also stated that in a boost for green energy, the state government has provided subsidy assistance to 1.38 lakh houses to set up rooftop solar power installations.


Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani announced that the state government would offer subsidies to encourage battery-operated two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has announced an aid scheme to encourage the use of battery-powered two-wheelers and three-wheelers to curb air pollution from vehicles in the state's towns and cities. Under this assistance scheme, the government will provide assistance of Rs.

The Chief Minister gave this eco-friendly gift to the citizens of the state as a Panchsheel gift of five development schemes in the state to celebrate the 70th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

          India's automobile industry is recovering rapidly. This can be estimated by looking at its sales figures. In October 2020, car companies have introduced discounts, special editions and attractive trim lails to attract more customers and give each other tough competition during the festive season. On Sunday, almost all automobile companies, including Tata-Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki, released their October sales figures.



Maruti has sold a total of 1,82,448 vehicles in the domestic market. Which means the company has grown 18.9% year-on-year. Tata Motors grew 79% year-on-year, while Hyundai grew 13%. Volkswagen, Nissan and Renault are down 38% year-on-year.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) on Sunday released its domestic sales figures. The company reported total sales of 1,82,448 units, an increase of 18.9% year-on-year, including 1,66,825 units for domestic sales and 6,037 units for other OEMs (Toyota Glenza and Urban Cruiser).



In addition, the country's largest automobile company exported 9,586 units in October 2020. The Alto and S-Presso sold 28,642 units in the mini segment, while the compact range of WagonR, Swift, Cellario, Ignis, Blaeno, Dzire and Tour S sold 95,067 units with growth of 26.6%.



Last month, only 1,422 units of Maruti Suzuki Siaz were sold with a negative increase of 40%. Maruti Suzuki's passenger UV range includes models like the Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza and XL6 and sold a total of 25,396 units last month. Overall, passenger vehicles grew by 17.6% to 1,63,656 units, compared to 1,39,121 units sold in the same period in 2019.

2. Tata recorded the highest annual growth of 79%



Tata Motors has made a good comeback since last month. The new range of product based on Impact Design philosophy and new platforms definitely sets a high standard. In October 2020, Tata sold a total of 23,600 vehicles.



The company sold 13,169 units during the same period last year. That means the company has an annual growth of 79%, which is higher than all car manufacturers.

Tata sold 18,583 units of domestic passenger vehicles in August 2020, an increase of 154%. Its number in August 2019 was 7,316 units.

In September 2020, Tata Motors sold 21,200 units, the highest since October 2012.

The total domestic sales in October 2020 stood at 3,33,759 units as against 2,84,048 units in the same period last year. That is an 18% increase over the year. Maruti Suzuki saw an 18% increase in sales with 1,63,600 units. The company sold 1,39,121 carriers during the same period last year. Compared to September 2020, total car sales increased by 14%.

South Korean auto maker Hyundai is expected to grow by 13.2% year-on-year and its new variant is expected to grow as the launch of the next generation i20 is just a few days away.

Tata Motors has been hit again after a three-month year-on-year increase in sales. Indian makers also finished third last month with the highest year-over-year increase. Sold 23,600 units last month, up from 13,169 units in the same period in 2019. Sales increased 79%.

The company finished fourth with 21,021 units due to the good response to Kia's compact SUV Sonnet. Sonnet and Celtos are setting a new standard in their segment and its impact is visible on the sales chart. The company reported a 64% year-on-year increase to 21,021 units against 12,854 units in October.

In remote rural areas of the state, it has been decided to start an innovative experiment of digital service bridge in the state using modern technology so that the public interest services of various departments of the government are available from the village level to the gram panchayat itself.  Rural citizens do not have to rush to the taluka-district headquarters for day-to-day services or certificates, for example, time and round-trip vehicle rental costs are saved as well as a variety of services at the primary stage with prices that do not go wrong.  It has been decided to start in 2 thousand gram panchayats from next 5th October by covering Sevasetu.  It is decided to cover more than 6000 gram panchayats in this digital service bridge by December 2020.
