 Purpose:

 Along with bank accounts, financial facilities such as debit cards, banking services, deposits, money transactions, insurance, pensions, etc. are to be provided to the people.  Besides, Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana is a mission of national financial inclusion.

 

 Aptitude

 Anyone above 10 years of age can open a bank account under this scheme.

 

 Advantages:

 The benefits associated with this scheme are as follows:

 Accident insurance cover of Rs. 1 lakh with interest on the deposit amount No minimum balance is required, however, it is advisable to deposit a small amount for withdrawal with the help of Rupee card. Life insurance cover of Rs. 50,000.  Money can be easily transferred across India.  Beneficiaries of government schemes will be credited directly to their account.  Overdraft facility will be provided after satisfactory transaction in the account for 6 months.  Pension and insurance facility

 

 Procedure:

 The following documents are required for Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana.  If you have Aadhaar card, no B document is required.  Certificate of current address is required if address has changed.  If you do not have Aadhaar card, any one of the following government documents is required. Identity card, driving license, passport

 Note: If these documents contain the applicant's address, this will serve as proof of identity as well as address.

 If any person does not have the above mentioned document, he / she can open an account with any document issued by the bank for the low risk category, a letter issued by the Gazetted Officer in which the photograph of the person is also certified.

 

 Implementing organizations

 

 The scheme will be implemented through branches of nationalized and public sector banks, branches of co-operative banks, bank friends, business representatives etc.

You can go to the bank and link the account with Aadhaar.  At the bank, you have to take a photocopy of Aadhar card, your passbook.  Many banks link the account to Aadhaar via message.  State Bank of India customers can link with Bank Account Aadhaar by sending UID <SPACE> Aadhaar Number <SPACE> to Account Number 567676 from registered mobile number.  Keep in mind that the link will not work if your Aadhaar and the mobile number provided in the bank are different.  Alternatively you can link your bank account with Aadhaar from your nearest ATM.

This is how you get the facility to withdraw 5 thousand rupees

 

Customers get an overdraft facility of Rs 5,000 on the Prime Minister's Jan Dhan account.  You need to have an Aadhaar card to avail the overdraft facility.  Apart from this PMJDY account also needs to be linked with Aadhaar card.  Under the scheme, PM Modi's aim was to open a bank account for every family.  Under Jandhan Yojana, you can also open an account for a child below 10 years of age.

 

Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving License, PAN Card or Voter Card, NREGA Job Card, Letter from Authority with name, address and Aadhaar number.  Letter issued by the Gazetted Officer with attested photo of the account opening.

If you want to open your new Jandhan account, you can easily do this by going to the nearest bank.  For this you have to fill the form in the bank.  It should include name, mobile number, name of bank branch, address of the applicant, nominee, occupation / employment and number of annual income and dependents, SSA code or ward number, village code or town code, etc.
