A copy of the semi-official letter dated 25/04/2023 from the Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India regarding sending the recommendations for the award of Padma to the Government of India and the prescribed specimen enclosure is sent herewith.
Rs. For sending recommendations for nominations for Padma Award, keeping in mind the instructions mentioned in the said letter of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the individuals or organizations who have made special efforts/achieved achievements in different fields through intensive efforts by your department and who are considered suitable for Padma Award. Recommendations are requested to be sent to this department as soon as they are received by 30/06/2023 at the latest. As this procedure is private and time bound, it is requested to appoint a senior officer of your department as nodal officer and give his name, phone No. etc. is requested to report here immediately.

There is also a request to take care of matters. (a) The persons to whom the recommendation is made shall be exclusively in the public domain throughout their lives should be provided. The Padma Award is the country's second highest award. Arthi, a person who receives a national award or state (q)
The person to be honored with the award must be nominated/recommended. {c) To make special efforts to recommend specially provided persons from women, weaker sections of society, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes, Divyang (disabled) etc.
(d) The award is not normally made posthumously. But the person dies in the near term
If received, such person may be recommended for award in special cases,
A person who has been awarded the Padma Award and a proposal for a higher award of the Padma Award If desired, a proposal for a higher award may be made after a period of five years but specially Exemption will be given for higher awards of Padma Award in circumstances.

(f) No officer/employee including Government officers/employees and officers/employees of Board Corporations shall be able to propose for the Padma Award. But doctors and scientists can propose for the Padma Award.
4. Here are the things to consider while submitting the proposal:
> Proposals for Padma Award are sent online to Government of India from here. Hence, the proposals sent by you here in English and Gujarati (including resume and write-up) should be sent in soft copy (in Word and PDF format) along with CD and hard copy in duplicate.
Citation details should be limited to a maximum of two pages (not exceeding 800 words) and should be prepared and sent.
> In English and Gujarati as per prescribed format enclosed herewith (Biodata and Right including up) soft copy (in Word and PDF format) subject wise proposal has to be submitted.
> Proposals submitted apart from the prescribed format will not be considered.
Even if there is zero information, it is requested to report it in due time.
This matter is very important and time bound, to be taken up at the highest level with Priority And you are requested to take personal interest in arranging that suitable proposals reach this department in time.
