Monsoon season will soon arrive in the state. During the monsoon season, it becomes necessary to take necessary precautionary measures in advance to avoid any accidents in the school and also to be vigilant about school safety. So all the schools/KGBVs/Hostels etc. in your district to make necessary preparations before the onset of monsoon season and to take precautionary measures to be vigilant regarding school safety, give the following written instructions to all school principals.


(1) Cleaning the water spout on the roof or terrace before monsoon and periodically during monsoon.


(2) Moving old furniture or other goods on the roof or roof to a suitable place.


(3) To remove the branches of trees in the school grounds which are bent or about to fall.


(4) If the electric wires are open or there is any wiring problem in the school, repairs should be done by SMC immediately. Installation of MCB/ELCB etc. as technically required. Expenditure from available school grants.


(5) During the monsoon season, the Principal and the teachers without the prior approval of the Taluka Primary Education Officer.not leaving the headquarters,

(9) If the rooms in the school are dilapidated, children should not be seated and should be careful to keep children away from dilapidated rooms.


(10) Erection of barricades or barricades around dilapidated or demolishable rooms, toilets, septic tanks, cisterns or other physical facilities in the school campus and putting up warning boards.


(11) The principal should take care to make the school a shelter in case of heavy rain or flood. To see that schools are easily accessible.


 (12) The decision to give leave to children during heavy rain or flood should be taken by the Principal according to his discretion and Make arrangements with the parents for the children to reach home on time. Teachers should not leave the school before the children leave.


(13) To check whether there is a fire safety system in the school and to use it properly the teacher and To check whether the students have been trained or not.


(14) If there is an underground water tank, arrange a barrier or fencing around it and keep it covered so that Children, public or animals should not be accident victims.


(15) Rainwater harvesting systems, water tanks, septic tanks, cesspools should be provided near the school to the children.


Don't let go and put up a board indicating the notice to this effect.


(16) If the school tank is kept open, it should be fitted with a lockable lid and placed in the ground.But if the water is full, take necessary measures to prevent mosquito infestation.



(17) Provision of speed breakers if the main road passes outside the school and sign boards regarding the school on both sides of the road.


(18) All precautionary measures shall be taken by the SMC as well as during the construction period in the school premises to prevent obstruction, disturbance and damage to the residents of adjoining buildings and houses in the vicinity.


The monopolist shall undertake at his own expense and risk.


(19) All precautionary measures to prevent any damage to other existing structures in the school compound during the construction period and to prevent any damage or injury to students/teachers or other employees/visitors studying in the school shall be taken by the SMC and the proprietor at their own expense and risk taking will be



 (20) When construction is to be started in a working school, by erecting a barricade or fencing at the construction site, to make arrangements so that children do not go to that side and for the safety of the children, the principal and teachers of the schoolI inform this matter in writing.


(21) Keep sheet barricade or fencing in the school where work is in progress so that children


Will not suffer an accident. (22) Keeping construction materials in order. So that there is no hindrance in the movement of children.


(23) Installation of notice boards showing danger or warning at the place of construction. Also report this matter in writing to all concerned officers/employees.
