Reference regarding provision of facilities: The Right of persons with disabilities Act 2016 (No:49 of 2016)




According to the above subject and context, to state that according to the provisions of the 'Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2018)', disabled students of classes 3 to 8 will have to be given special facilities according to their need and reasonableness if they produce a certificate of disability issued by the competent authority. According to the rules made by the Health Department regarding who is considered to be a disability or learning disability, special facilities have to be given to the disabled with learning disability on presentation of a certificate from the competent authority. For the purposes of this letter, Handicapped means Totally Blind, Shortsightedness, Blindness, Mental Retardation, Multiple Sight, Autism, Stupidity, Acid Attack Victim, Hearing Impairment, Aphasia, Cerebral Palsy (CP), Muscular Dystrophy, Relapsing Leprosy, Specific Learning Disability (Dyslexia. Dysgraphia). , Dyscalculla, Dyspraxia and Developmental aphasia). Things like having Thalassemia, Parkinson's disease, Multiple sclerosis, Haemophilia are included.




(1) Relaxation in examination time




In all written examinations conducted at the school level for students with disabilities in classes 3 to 8, additional time of half an hour (30 minutes) in the three-hour question paper or twenty minutes in the two-hour exam will be available to the students with disabilities. Students with any type of disability who write the answers in the written examination on their own and do not take the help of a scribe or even if they take the help of a scribe will be entitled to an additional half hour in the three-hour paper in the school written examination or twenty minutes in the two-hour examination.

(2) Passing standard:




Even if the criteria for passing the evaluation are otherwise prescribed But for students with one or more types of disabilities, the passing standard will be 20 percent.




(3) Physical facilities for disabled students at the examination venue:




• Seating arrangements for disabled students in all school examinations on the ground floor ( to be arranged on the floor).




• Care should be taken to ensure that suitable furniture like couches, chairs, desks, tables etc. and accessible toilet facilities are close to the disabled examinees.




* Delegating the responsibility of special teachers working in that district for the purpose of assisting students with disabilities.


 (4) Concession of use of special equipment - material during examination




Disabled students will be allowed to use special equipment materials in all school examinations as follows:




Totally Blind, Myopia, Blindness, Cerebral Palsy ( C . P ), Autism,




Students with multiple disabilities, deaf and hard of hearing, Divyang students can use computer screen-reader, computer with braille loaded software, abacus, trailer frame, braille mathematical compass if they wish.




Visually challenged students Magnifying glass, Talking calculator, Large calculator, Optical assistive device with large key board, Low-vision kit can use Special educational equipment as needed to suit this individual disability can use the content.

(5) Question paper in Braille If possible, decide to give question paper in Braille to visually impaired students or arrange for reader or writer.
