3 Eligibility Criteria for the beneficiary of the scheme The scheme provides benefit to all maternity sisters, women belonging to the BPL card under the poverty line, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families who have BPL with the beneficiary. If the card is not available, they will have to obtain a certificate of income from the Minister, Sarpanch, Mamlatdar, Chief Officer, Talati Commissions, Extension.

Janani Suraksha Yojana

JananiSurakshaYojana (JSY) is a safe motherhood intervention under the National Health Mission. It is being implemented with the objective of reducing maternal and neonatal mortality by promoting institutional delivery among poor pregnant women. The scheme, launched on 12 April 2005 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, is under implementation in all states and Union Territories (UTs), with a special focus on Low Performing States (LPS).

Assistance / Benefit under the Scheme Under this scheme, the beneficiary will get Rs. 3 / - In the urban area, nutrition is paid for a period of three months after the last pregnancy, to meet the cost of delivery or other costs.
Methods for availing the scheme, a woman health worker will have to fill up the form along with BPL for assistance under these schemes. Card or proof of income will have to be enclosed.
