(Established by Government of Gujarat vide Gujarat Act No.9 of 2009) Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Kamdhenu University was established by the Act No. 9 of 2009 with the
Responsibility to establish and incorporate a teaching and affiliating University for the development of Veterinary and Animal Sciences for furthering the advancement of learning, conducting of research and dissemination of findings of research and other technical information in Veterinary and Animal Sciences including Dairy Science, Fisheries and allied sciences in the State of Gujarat. Further, the Gujarat Legislative assembly passed the bill on 24/09/2020, to amend the Gujarat Agricultural Universities Act, 2004 and the (Amendment) Act, 2020 (Gujarat Act No 15 of 2020). As per the notification of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department, Government of Gujarat dated 05/04/2021, all the Veterinary, Dairy and Fisheries colleges have been transferred from Kamdhenu University Act, 2009, in order to enact the Kamdhenu University Laws
State Agricultural Universities to Kamdhenu University with effect from 01/04/2021. Kamdhenu University is to impart education and provide training for skills development in Faculties of Veterinary, Dairy and Fisheries science leading to Diploma,Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. degrees. Kamdhenu University offers Diploma in Animal Husbandry, B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc. degree programmes at UG level and M.V.Sc., M.F.Sc., M.Tech. (Dairy Science) and Ph.D. degree programmes at Pg Level at it's constitute and affiliated Polytechnics/Colleges/Institutes located at various
