Ahmedabad: More than 200 new instances of coronavirus were recognized in Gujarat, taking the count to 1,939 on Monday, while the loss of life rose to 71 after eight additional patients surrendered to the disease, a state wellbeing office official said.

Out of the 201 new cases recognized over the most recent 24 hours, Ahmedabad alone represented 152, trailed by Surat at 27 and Vadodara at eight, the authority said.

The all out number of COVID-19 cases in Ahmedabad region rose to 1,248, of which 1,173 are from the city, the authority said.
