Coronavirus In India LIVE Updates: No hike in dearness allowance
for the year for Central government employees will be made this year,
government has announced. Central government employees and pensioners
will now continue to receive the DA at current rates. Dearness Relief
(DR) payable to central govt pensioners, due from 1st Jan, 2020 shall
also not be paid.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday
said 'BJP is spreading the virus of hatred and communal bias at the time
when everyone together should fight coronavirus,' while speaking at CWC
meeting. She urged the Centre to provide financial assistance and food
security to labourers, expressing concern over job losses amid lockdown.

The number of lives claimed by the Covid-19 coronavirus in
India escalated sharply to 681 on Thursday morning, with the total tally
of positive cases breaching the 23,000 mark.

Piyush Goyal to run special train services from Mumbai and Pune to ferry
migrant workers stuck in Maharashtra to their native states after the
lockdown ends on May 3.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has urged Railway Minister Piyush
Goyal to run special train services from Mumbai and Pune to ferry
migrant workers stuck in Maharashtra to their native states after the
lockdown ends on May 3.
According to an official statement, in a letter to Goyal, Pawar said
that the migrant workers, stranded in different parts of Maharashtra,
may step out in big numbers to return to their states when the train
services resume after the lockdown is lifted.
This can lead to law and order problem (with workers coming out in big
numbers), he added.
To avoid this, the Railway Ministry should run special trains, he

Andhra Pradesh Update
: 80 more people have tested positive for COVID19 in Andhra Pradesh,
taking the total number of cases to 893. Out of the total cases, 141
patients have recovered & 27 others succumbed to the infection,
stated the Andhra Pradesh Health Department

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today inaugurated a mobile lab named
Mobile Virology Research & Diagnostics Laboratory developed by DRDO
for conducting #COVID19 screening and R&D activities. This mobile
lab has the screening capacity of more than 1000 samples daily.
