India's star shuttler PV Sindhu defeated Japan's Nozomi Okuhara in the final of the World Badminton Championship played in Basel, Switzerland.  He won the match 21-7, 21-7.  Indus won the match by 38 minutes on Sunday.  She became the first Indian to become the champion in the tournament's 42-year history.  Sindhu won silver in 2018, 2017 and bronze in 2013, 2014.

The State Bank of India (SBI) has modified the interest rate on fixed deposit, ie FD.  Under which SBI has reduced the interest rate on retail domestic fixed deposits by 0.10%.  SBI has reduced the term deposit rate of less than 2 years from 0.10% to 6.7% from 6.8%.  The new rate goes into effect on August 26.

Earlier, the SBI imposed new interest rates from August 1, 2019.  Interest rates have been cut by 0.5 to 0.75 percent on short-term 179-day FDs.  Similarly, interest rates have been deducted at 0.20 in the retail segment and 0.35% in the bulk segment on long-term fixed deposits.  The country's largest bank has also cut interest rates on deposits of Rs two crore and above.

According to AIIMS spokeswoman Aarti Vijay, Jaitley breathed his last at 12pm and seven minutes on Saturday.
In May, Jaitley wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he did not want to take any government responsibility for health reasons.
